Show 12
August 5th, 2007
Howler's Coyote Cafe
Pittsburgh, PA

Diary:
hey there lovelies, so sunday, fresh off of our fun at dakota's, we got to play an open mic at howler's, our new home away from home (bar-wise i guess). we played with an eccentric line up: derica, a crossdresser in from cleveland who plays mean steel guitar blues (all in a skirt no less), isaac merz and the semi-formals (sans-drummer) who were the hosts of the little shindig, and finally two bands from new york (comprised of pretty much the same members with a few line-up variations) old table and no one and the somebodies, both of which did interesting variations on noise band stuff, rock, and such.

again, the show went very well and ben and i both utilized our schmoozing abilities at different points throughout the night so we now have help in the future for booking cleveland and nyc. it also helped that jo, our favorite bartender/barowner, had been talking us up before we even arrived and waited the whole night to hear us play, continually mentioning she wished the open mic were more like the gong show and she could drag out a big hook.

in short, yet another great reception of what we do and a good time for all. now off to get ready for the big show tonight!

peace,

~Maura
