Diary:
So i've fallen horribly behind in basically everything in life, but it's time to renew our little tradition of journal entries about shows. So from way way long ago, in the lovely month of August, let us remember Action Camp's much hailed return to the 'Burgh.

We played yet another night in our favorite dive, getting to play twice just for the hel of it. The sound guy was great and offered to record both our sets for us (they had just set up a completely new system with 8 track recording). After spending some quality time with my daddio and his buddy from work Jim (who took some mighty fine pictures during our gig) we hit the stage and did what we do best. We had a lovely crowd, including many of my friends i've known since high school (just a little daunting) who had just shown us a great night out of karoke and pool just the evening before.

after our first set, the metropolitans took the stage, playing fun swing, jazz, and pop with a great female lead and horn section. Elise was feeling sick, so guitar player seth picked up the slack beautifully while she and i exchanged vocal tips like the lovely nasal douche, vitamins, and drops.

our second set was to a much sparser audience, but loving none the less, and had a bit more zeal with the liquid courage of jagermeister and vodka in our systems. all in all a great night that resulted in a fun recording for all to enjoy.

peace,

~Maura
